Saturday Morning's Greatest Hits: True Love Is On Its Way (1977)

Today's entry is also on The Land of Whatever, and is certainly appropriate for Valentine's Day.

It's been a while since we featured Kaptain Kool & the Kongs, and this time, Super Chick (Debra Clinger) sings lead on "True Love Is On Its Way". Uploaded by StreetKnight1:

I've always wondered what happened to the fifth member named Flatfoot who was there for the first season of Krofft. Any ideas?

That was Flatbush. As I wrote over at the Land of Whatever, and in previous Kongs posts here, Flatbush was from my area, and had a falling out with the Kroffts, leading to his firing between seasons 1 & 2. Sadly, Bert "Flatbush" Sommer passed away a few years ago. He was one of the first local talents from my area, along with actors Maureen Stapleton & William Devane, to make it big nationally.

Oh yeah, Flatbush. It had been a while since I've seen that opening on YouTube. Shame about him.

Indeed. In fact, the only time I ever saw him play was on the Supershow. Never saw him perform live in front of the homies years later before he passed.
